Our method –
consistent language
practice
Language acquisition happens in micro-moments of practice. Through consistent language practice, a student can naturally increase his language capacities. This correlates with the processing capabilities of the human brain. When an individual receives information, it gets stored in the sensory memory, where the information is temporarily held. Through repetition, the information can transfer to the long-term memory, where it seems to be retrained permanently and can be retrieved. Correspondingly, repetitive practice can help a student to gain proficiency in the language.

Habit creation
Language habits are the key pillars of our learning method. We encourage our students to create habits and to practice their language skills daily. Linguaclub helps the students to do so through chunks of daily exercises and grammar explanations that correspond to a specific chapter.
Tracking your progress
The progress of the students is being tracked by our habit tracker. By committing to your everyday language practice, you will see real results and will be able to finally speak with confidence and ease!
Practicing all of the language skills
The development of the main cognitive domains forms a base for proper language usage. In order to increase a student’s proficiency in primary language skills, it is important to provide an equal amount of practice for every language skill. Even though the main cognitive domains are interrelated in real communication, students need to give equal importance to each language skill in the learning process. Through the continuous practice of each of the cognitive domains, students will develop strong productive and receptive skills, which will allow them to increase their language use in real-life communication. Receptive skills consist of reading and listening. Productive skills compromise speaking and writing.

all language skills are being practiced because an exercise with a different language skill gets open every day. At the end of the week, a student can participate in a speaking club corresponding to the theme of his language block. This way, a student can use his language skills actively.

Passive vocabulary -> active vocabulary

Vocabulary knowledge is a crucial component needed to master the main cognitive domains

Although, one of the difficulties experienced by language learners is the gap between passive and active vocabulary knowledge. Passive vocabulary knowledge allows one to recognize a word and comprehend its meaning in a context, whereas active vocabulary knowledge allows retrieval of the needed words from memory in appropriate situations.
Our method is designed in a way, which helps students to actively use all of the words they learn. Student’s active vocabulary skills increase since all of the vocabulary used in the week’s exercises correspond to a specific theme. Through consistent practice of the specific vocabulary, a student can remember and retrieve new words at an appropriate moment.

Dutch language teacher

Netherlands

Speaks: Russian native, Dutch native, English C1, Spanish B2

About me:

I moved to the Netherlands from Russia at a young age, which is why Dutch became my second mother tongue. Foreign languages have surrounded me throughout my whole life and have become a great passion of mine. Therefore, being able to help people improve their communication skills is what inspires me the most!

In addition, my family has had teachers in every generation since my great–grandmother. So being among teachers is a normal environment for me.

My classes are provided in Dutch, but if necessary, some points can be explained in Russian, English, or Spanish, which are used as bridge languages.

Elena

Dutch language teacher

Netherlands

Speaks: Russian native, Dutch native, English C1, Spanish B2

About me:

I am the founder of Linguaclub and a professional teacher. I give English, Russian, and Dutch lessons with over 23 years of experience. I am glad to have been able to make my hobby – foreign languages – my profession.

During the first conversation with a student, I always ask what goal he wants to achieve and how much time he intends to spend on it.
Then I taylor a unique learning plan. The purpose of learning a foreign language is to communicate in this language. The student and I are always aware of this primary goal, but apart from this goal, we set each lesson a small goal, which the student must achieve during the lesson.

During the lesson, we practice all kinds of language skills: reading, listening, writing, and speaking.

Jeroen

Dutch language teacher

Netherlands

Speaks: Dutch native, English C1, Spanish B2

About me:

I was born in the Netherlands, and I proudly was one of our first teachers at Linguaclub. Besides coming from a family of teachers, I have developed a great passion for teaching myself.

I started teaching at a secondary school, Cals College IJsselstein, immediately after high school, where I explained various subjects to students. After that, I was promoted to supervisor at the Grafisch Lyceum in Utrecht, where I still helped students with their studies.
In addition to the Dutch language, I have a good command of the English language and even speak a little Russian.

You will learn how to conduct conversations in literary Dutch in my classes. You will read Dutch literature. In addition, you will improve your writing level. You will develop a feeling for the language, which is an essential characteristic for those who have ambitious plans such as communicating with highly skilled Dutch.

About me:

I am a dedicated English and Dutch teacher who loves teaching and seeing how students progress over time!

Developing the four skills of language (reading, listening, speaking, writing) will be the most important, general goal during the English and Dutch lessons. They will be acquired through fun and different activities, such as role-plays, presentations, authentic literature, educational games, et cetera. However, every lesson also will have a separate goal, which the student needs to achieve during the class. Additionally, other sub-skills, such as cultural awareness, grammar, and vocabulary, will be introduced in the lessons.

My native language is Dutch. However, I studied English and Dutch at the University of Applied Sciences in Utrecht. As a result, I learned about the theory of English linguistics, pedagogy, and teacher skills, after which I processed this knowledge in my job as a tutor and teacher.

I have been teaching for more than four years at different tutor organizations and schools. I have taught various age groups and levels of English and Dutch. Because of this variety of experiences, I have developed excellent communication skills and can analyze an individual’s needs. Additionally, I have worked with special needs students, which requires patience and a unique approach.

Daniela

Spanish language teacher

Netherlands

Speaks: Dutch native, English C1, Spanish B2

About me:

I am an Argentinian, born in Buenos Aires. I am very passionate about foreign languages and cultures, and I am happy to pass my love for foreign languages to my students. I am not only a native Spanish speaker from Argentina, but multiple foreign languages have surrounded me from a very young age since I have family members from different countries. Therefore, if needed, I can help a student master Spanish by using Italian, French, and English as a bridge – language.

I encourage my students to learn the Spanish language and learn more about Spanish / Latin-American cultures enjoyably and entertainingly. During my lessons, you will learn grammar, vocabulary, and most importantly, you will be able to practice your speech with a native speaker.

I would love to get to know you and help improve your Spanish.

Isn’t it an excellent opportunity to learn one of the most spoken languages with a native speaker from Argentina?

Sergey

English language teacher

Netherlands

Speaks: Dutch native, English C1, Spanish B2

About me:

My name is Sergey and I have been teaching English for over 30 years.
I entered the Irkutsk State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages not so much out of love for the English language, but because almost all of my family were school teachers and university professors with post graduate degrees – my grandfather, grandmother, mother, two aunts, and other more distant relatives. So I can safely call myself the successor of the dynasty. Love for English came later.

I especially enjoyed teaching English phonetics. I once calculated that in four years of work at the Foreign Languages Institute I had about 1500 classes on phonetics!
